Standing
Faction Standings are a way to measure Corporations and Holdings reputation toward various Factions.
Standing Values
Standing value can vary between +1'000'000 and -1'000'000.
Good reputation is represented by positive values, while bad reputation is represented by negative ones.
There are several Standing Level:

Effect of Standing
NPC Agents will not sell their Items or teach their Blueprints without a certain amount of positive Standing toward their Faction. Rarest Items and Blueprints require higher Standing.
When a Standing toward a Faction is "At War", every NPC Ships of that Faction will attack Corporation Ships on sight.
Standing while in a Holding
When a Corporation is in a Holding, the resulting Standing towards NPC Agents and Ships is influenced by Holding Standing values.
Holding influence on Standings is greater for CEO and Managers.
Standing Shifts
Standing Shift while fighting
Standing shift happens when an enemy Ship is destroyed.
Corporation owning the Ship delivering the killing blow, together with every Corporation with Ships in the same Fleet, will be subject to a Standing shift.
A negative shift will be applied towards the Faction owning the destroyed ship.
A shift will also be applied towards the Faction owning the System, depending on its Standing towards the destroyed ship's Faction: negative shift for positive Standing, and viceversa.
Also, a smaller collateral shift of the same sign will be applied towards Factions with a positive Standing towards the Faction owning the System.
Example: Destroying an Alien Ship in a Federation System will produce a negative Standing Shift towards Alien Faction, a positive Standing Shift towards Federation Faction, and a smaller positive Standing towards every Faction with a positive Standing towards Federation.
Standing Shift while trading
Standing shift happens every time money is earned by trading.
Corporation earning money will be subject to a Standing Shift.
A positive shift will be applied towards the buyer's Faction.
Also, if the buyer's faction is Hostile or Enemy toward Corporation's Faction, a negative shift will be applied toward Corporation's main Faction and every Faction with a positive Standing toward them.
Standing Shift while manufacturing
Standing shift happens every time money is spent in Manufacturing (Crafting, Refining, Distillation).
Corporation spending money will be subject to a Standing Shift.
A positive shift will be applied towards the Faction of the Holding that owns the Base Station.
Also, if the owner's faction is Hostile or Enemy toward Corporation's Faction, a negative shift will be applied toward Corporation's main Faction and every Faction with a positive Standing toward them.
Standing shifts and Fleets
Standing shifts applied to Corporations while their Ships are in a Fleet are divided evenly among Corporations having at least one Fleet Ship in the same System.
Standing variation for Holdings
Holding will receive a percentage of any standing Shift that is applied to any member Corporation.
This percentage is related to the number of Holding members: more members means less Standing points for the holding. Also, this percentage is slightly higher for Holding Managers and CEO.
Standing between Factions
Playable Factions are allied between each other. The following table explains the relationships between all the existing Factions. Please refer to the "Standing Shift while fighting" section to better understand how to change Standing.
